Here’s my recipe for crispy ginger tofu—delicious and easy to make.
Not familiar with tofu? We also call it “soy cheese” around here. It comes in the form of light-colored blocks and is very nutritious. Rich in protein and low in fat, it’s a great alternative to animal protein.
Tofu can have a firm or silky texture, and its flavor is fairly neutral. For this reason, it’s often marinated before cooking to infuse it with the desired flavors and aromas.
In this stir-fried tofu recipe, my marinade is flavored with ginger, garlic, and soy sauce. Before cooking, I roll the tofu cubes in sesame seeds, which give them a crispy texture and a pleasant roasted flavor. I then stir-fry them with onions, and that’s it!
Once cooked and golden brown, this crispy ginger tofu is absolutely appetizing and flavorful. It makes an excellent side dish for steamed vegetables or mashed potatoes.
I hope I’ve inspired you to try this recipe, and that you’ll make it a part of your everyday cooking! No, tofu isn’t just for die-hard vegans—it’s a perfectly normal food that’s widely consumed in Asia. Give tofu a try in your kitchen and let me know how it goes!
Enjoy, and thank you in advance for your comments 🙏
