Satay sauce is a condiment originating in Southeast Asia, made with local spices and seasonings, as well as roasted peanuts. It gets its name from the popular skewered meat dish in that region, which is traditionally served with this sauce.

It adds a crispy texture to the skewers and enhances their flavor.

In addition to skewers, this crispy satay sauce is a wonderful addition to fish, chicken, or shrimp dishes.

So give it a try in my recipe for Thai chicken skewers… a guaranteed treat!

Ingredients for Crispy Satay Sauce

  • Image de garlic
    1 garlic
  • Image de coconut milk
    3.4 fl oz of coconut milk or coconut cream
  • Image de yellow curry
    1 yellow curry
  • Image de sweet paprika
    1 sweet paprika
  • Image de peanut butter
    3 peanut butter or peanut butter
  • Image de lime juice
    1 lime juice
  • Image de soy sauce
    2 soy sauce
  • Image de tamarind sauce
    1,5 tamarind sauce or sweet soy sauce
  • Image de peanuts
    1 ¾ oz of peanuts

Crispy Satay Sauce : instructions

  • 1
    Peel and remove the germ from the garlic clove. Finely chop it.
  • 2
    Add all the ingredients (except the peanuts) to the bowl of a food processor, and blend until the mixture is well emulsified.

    Coarsely crush the peanuts in a mortar.

    Add the crushed peanuts to the rest of the mixture. Mix well and serve in ramekins or small glasses.
