I discovered this recipe for Prune Merveille during a cooking class. I’ve made it several times since then for meals with family or friends. It makes for a delicious and visually appealing dessert that’s also easy to prepare. A real treat, in other words 😋

    4.2 oz of prunes
  • Image de water
    1.4 cup of water
  • Image de sugar
    1.8 oz of sugar
  • Image de orange zest
    3 à 4 orange zest sliced
  • Image de cottage cheese
    12.3 oz of cottage cheese
  • Image de crème fraîche
    12.3 oz of crème fraîche thick
  • Image de cinnamon
    1 cinnamon

Merveille aux Pruneaux : instructions

  • 1
    Place the pitted prunes in a saucepan with the sugar, water, zest, and cinnamon, and simmer for 15 minutes over low heat.
  • 2
    Let the cooking syrup reduce slightly until the liquid level is just covering the prunes.
  • 3
    Set aside 4 prunes for garnish. Blend the prunes and refrigerate the jam.
  • 4
    To assemble, take a stemmed glass and start by adding a layer of heavy cream, followed by the prune jam, and finally the cottage cheese.

    Place the decorative prune on top and serve.
