Here’s my simple zucchini gratin recipe—it’s quick and foolproof. It’s the perfect dish for a healthy, hearty family meal.

The zucchini is first sautéed in oil, then coated in a creamy béchamel sauce. It’s then topped with grated cheese and baked in the oven until it’s golden and crispy.

I adapted this simple zucchini gratin recipe from a recipe on the Tuyau de Poêle blog.

Ingredients for Gratin de courgettes

  • Image de zucchini
    1 kg of zucchini
  • Image de flour
    60 g of flour
  • Image de milk
    50 cl of milk
  • Image de Grated Comté cheese
    100 g of Grated Comté cheese or other grated cheese
  • Image de olive oil
    olive oil
  • Image de salt
    salt
  • Image de pepper
    pepper

Gratin de courgettes : instructions

  • 1
    Cut the zucchini into wedges (slice them into rounds, then cut each round into 4 pieces).
  • 2
    Sauté them in a pan with olive oil until they become translucent.
  • 3
    Add salt and pepper.
  • 4
    Add the flour and cook, stirring occasionally.
  • 5
    When the mixture starts to thicken, add the milk and let it thicken a little more, stirring constantly.
  • 6
    Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with grated cheese.
  • 7
    Bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 200°C.
