Baking is one of the oldest and most versatile methods in cooking. It involves exposing food to dry, even heat, allowing for gentle or intense cooking depending on the temperature selected. Ideal for roasted meats, gratins, cakes, breads, and roasted vegetables, this technique preserves flavors and creates a golden, crispy crust while keeping the inside tender.




Among its advantages are even cooking, low fat content, and the ability to prepare large quantities without constant supervision. On the other hand, its drawbacks include longer cooking times and higher energy consumption compared to other cooking methods. When mastered, however, oven cooking remains an indispensable ally for enhancing both savory dishes and desserts.
