Jambon à l'échalote : instructions
- 1Finely chop (or blend) the shallots and onion.
- 2Sauté them in a saucepan with a drizzle of oil.
- 3Add the tomato puree, cream, and wine.
- 4Season with salt and pepper and cook for
10 minutes . - 5Roll up the slices of ham and arrange them in a baking dish.
- 6Coat the ham with the sauce and bake for
10 minutes .
Notes
Serve with rice, generously topped with sauce.This dish tastes even better when reheated.

I’ve been making this recipe for 40 years because my mom used to make it when I was growing up. It’s been a tradition in our family for at least 50 years.
We loved it when our parents had dinner parties—we’d always be the ones to finish off the dish 😂
