Here is my recipe for an apple crumble cake that will delight both kids and adults, whether served for dessert or as a snack.

It’s a tart made with puff pastry, where the apples are soaked in a little Grand Marnier and topped with an almond crumble.

It’s a simple recipe, but you’ll just need to allow enough time for the apples to soak and for the baking.

    1 puff pastry
  • Image de apple
    6 apples
  • Image de Grand Marnier
    1 a shot of Grand Marnier gold or blackcurrant liqueur
  • Image de butter
    7 ¾ oz of butter
  • Image de flour
    3.5 oz of flour
  • Image de sugar
    3.5 oz of sugar
  • Image de whole almonds
    4.4 oz of whole almonds Choose whole almonds that you can grind in a mortar or food processor, rather than almond flour

Gâteau aux pommes façon Crumble : instructions

  • 1
    Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  • 2
    Peel the apples and cut them into thin slices. Let them soak in the alcohol for half an hour.
  • 3
    Roll out the puff pastry in the dish and prick it with a fork to prevent it from rising too much. Pre-bake for 15 minutes, covering it first with aluminum foil and then with a thick layer of dried beans or a smaller pie pan.

    Prepare the topping by mixing melted butter, flour, sugar, and almonds.
  • 5
    Drain the apples and place them on the pre-baked crust.
  • 6
    Spread the topping over everything. Place in the oven.
  • 7
    When the crust is golden brown (10–20 min), continue baking for another 30 minutes at a low temperature (150°).
