  • Mix all the ingredients together and pour into a ramekin
  • Notes

    1. If you find the sauce too salty or too strong, add more lemon juice or vinegar and a little water.
    2. This sauce also goes well with all Vietnamese dishes and soups. It can be stored for several weeks.
    3. If you don’t like the taste of Nuoc Mam, you can replace it with soy sauce, which has a milder aroma but a completely different flavor.
    4. You can add a pinch of toasted sesame seeds and/or some grated carrots preserved in vinegar to this sauce.
