Cake au Saumon Fumé

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (thermostat 6).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Gradually stir in the oil and the milk, which has been warmed beforehand. Mix well to avoid lumps. Add the Gruyère cheese. Stir.
  • Cut the salmon into strips, chop the chives, and add them to the batter. Mix well. To give this cake a unique twist, grate some fresh ginger into the mixture.
  • To add a touch of originality and give this cake a little extra kick, you can choose to either grate a piece of fresh ginger into the mixture or use very lightly crushed pink peppercorns.
  • Pour the mixture into an ungreased baking pan and bake for 45 minutes.
