  • Cut a lid about 6 to 8 inches in diameter from the top of the pumpkin.
    Remove all the seeds.
  • Cook the Morteau sausage in water for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, slice the mushrooms and sauté them in a pan.
    You can add a little garlic if you like.
  • Toast the slices of bread, then rub them with garlic before arranging them in the bottom of the pumpkin.
  • Arrange slices of Morteau sausage and mushrooms on top, then cover with grated cheese.
  • Drizzle with white wine and cream, season with salt and pepper, and repeat with a second layer.
  • Cover the pumpkin with its lid and bake in the oven (160°C) for 3 hours.

    The quantities are approximate; they depend on the size of the pumpkin and your personal taste.

    You can vary the recipe by adding slices of potato (pre-cooked), chestnuts, etc.
