Lentils cooked with vegetables

Ingredients

10.6 oz of green lentils

1 leek

2 carrots

1 onion

1 celery

1 garlic

1 clove

1 thyme

1 bay leaf

Instructions
Rinse the lentils and add them to a pot.
Cover the lentils with twice their volume of water.
Peel and wash the leeks; scrub and rinse the carrots and celery.
Cut them into rounds and add them to the pot.
Peel and chop the onion, then stick a clove into one of the pieces.
Peel and mince the garlic.
Add the onion and garlic to the pot.
Add the thyme and bay leaf, and season with salt and pepper.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
